About gameblooms
gameblooms lists every new official game trailer, newest first, and indexes game showcases game by game: for each game shown, the trailer, who makes it, the platforms and the release date. It is built by Chronosaur.
Where the trailers come from
A collector reads 30 YouTube channels. 29 are official: the channels of platform holders, publishers, studios and showcase events. The other one is a press channel: GameSpot Trailers. The collector is scheduled to run every hour, and a run adds only what it finds new. A trailer is listed with the channel it came from; the video itself is embedded from YouTube and belongs to its publisher.
Duplicate uploads
Studios, publishers and platform holders often upload the same trailer. gameblooms folds such uploads into one trailer, but only when the game, the kind of trailer, the publication date and the length all agree. The copy from the strongest source stays on the list (developer first, then publisher, platform, showcase, press); the others are shown as copies of it. This is matching on metadata, not on the picture, so a true re-upload with different wording can still appear twice.
Steam matching
For many games gameblooms looks the title up in Steam's public store and takes the developer, publisher, genres, release date and platforms from there. A game with no Steam match, a console exclusive for example, keeps only what its trailer states.
Show roundups
A show roundup lists every game from a showcase in running order. Each one is researched against the show's official broadcast and official sources, such as publisher, platform and store pages, and cross-checked with press coverage. The pages used are listed in the Sources section of the roundup.
What the research could not confirm stays unknown: a missing developer, platform or release date is left blank, never filled in. The Nintendo Direct roundup covers only Nintendo platforms: it lists the Switch 2 and Switch versions announced in the show, even when a game also comes to other systems.
